Curated by Mary Statzer as part of Hindsight Insight 3.0
But History and I presents a selection of my participatory artworks that have been growing and changing over the years. In this show, the works take new forms as a way to hold and reflect the sweet collective labor and action that brought them into being. The exhibition is titled after an Emily Dickinson poem and indebted to Italian immigrants and anarchists, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti.
But History and I came about through conversations with curator Mary Statzer and is part of her multi-year initiative at the museum, Hindsight Insight, that reimagines the past and future of the collection.
