Independent publishing
Special Collections Press, Demos, SPLITS, Color & Color, T-shirts, Aprons
Independent publishing in various forms is important to my work for its responsivity, collaborative-nature, accessibility, and its intimate and democratic structures. Here are a selection of recent publishing projects that range from a Risograph-based arts press to editions of screen printed garments.
Special Collections Press began as partnership between myself and colleague, Jordan Tate, in partnership with the The College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) Arts Library at the University of Cincinnati. The press has published a collection of artists books, broadsides and hosted book launch parties and readings. Special Collections has participated in book fairs and art fairs from Cincinnati to CDMX. Hot Take Press, a spin-off student-run press, shares the equipment with us.

Demos: Wapato Correctional Facility, produced by ERNEST, c3:initiative, and Container Corps, in Portland, Oregon.
The publication is 31 pages long, and contains 5 original essays. Includes contributions from c3:initiative, Ace Lehner, Sarah Fontaine, Ernest Jerome DeFrance, Pete Brook, Dan Gilsdorf, and ERNEST.
Available at Printed Matter NYC.
Color & Color is a four-issue artist publication co-edited myself and Erik Scollon (2009-2012). Each issue takes on a different color pairing and invites artists to respond to the colors. Book launch parties were important and friends were made. :)
SPLITS, words by Sara Shelton Mann, book cover/wrapping by me, published by Lauren McKeon, Edition of 80, 8 x 6 inch booklet with 60 x 15 inch screen printed cotton cover, 2014
