RECENT

See Matt Sussman's SF Guardian year-end arts review that mentions my exhibition, Occupy the Empty.

International Incheon Women's Biennale
October 1-30, 2011
Incheon, Korea
Invited by curator José Ruiz, I was able to return to Korea in Sept/Oct 2011. I presented and performed a site-specific artwork, Double Barbershop Poles, that investigates shared US/Korean underground codes. Based in my complicit and complicated relationship with Korea, DBSP is part instigation, part exorcism, and part love-letter to Korea. This work is continuing as Invitation, Club Daughters of Bilitis, a small book compiling images, surveys, interviews, and research based in the experience of navigating public queerness in South Korea and American visual culture.

Mixed Messages: A(I)DS, Art + Words
LaMaMa Galleria, NYC

I was honored to be selected as one of the 2010 SF Guardian's Goldie Award Recipients.

Shadowshop at SFMOMA
Stephanie Syjuco invited me to participate in her "mom and pop shop" on the fifth floor of the SFMOMA.
I exhibited a new work, Afghanistan Insert, a series of rebranded mugs with primary source image-inserts of the Afghanistan landscape and graffiti from the military bases there.
